Power shift
The Chinese are being driven by a history of imprisonment by communism. For the Indians, it is a history of the caste system. Having experienced hardship over time, these nations are desperate to demonstrate their capabilities to the world. Every year, China turns out more graduates than the population of most European countries. As the world leadership shifts to the East, I fear for the tension we may have to contend with as these emerging dinosaurs flex muscles as they attempt to corner resources to enable them meet the basic necessities of their citizen.

We can't be sure. The US will bounce back. Japan was a threat in the 90s but the States re-invented itsef. We have to wait.
An Obama presidency promises hope. But the world has to watch its expectation from the young man.the Isrealis are maiming the palestines. I think that is a distraction Obama doesn't need.
From recent events, President-elect Obama has enough to chew. The Middle-East crisis will task his judgment skills. One thing going for him is that he has enough political capital. Whether he utilizes it is up to him.
