Tips for achieving peace in the Middle East

• The Arabs must realize that Israel has the right to exist as a nation.
• The Arab states must work towards full recognition of the Israeli state.
• Israel must hand over all occupied territories.
• Iran acquiring nuclear capabilities would serve as a counter balance to the ruthless Israeli Defense Forces.
• While guaranteeing Israel’s external integrity (security), the United States must be seen to be a fair mediator.

Your 4th tip is controversial. Iran with the bomb? We are all dead!!!

Israel has turned into a nuisance to its neighbors. But you can't justify the endless shelling of Hamas militants. Freedom fighters? Nope!

Maybe we all forget that the Haggah resistance in post-War 2 Palestine operated more or less as a terrorist organisation. Yes, by today's standards, they were terrorists. But, Hamas rockets are not justified just as Israel blockade is disgusting. So how do we achieve peace?

Yemmy, have you seen the destruction in Gaza? Israel has a right to existence. That they are here to stay has to be acknowledged by the Arabs. 15 dead Israelis for 7,000 Palestinians says it all. Israel had the right to retaliation but you don't kill a fly with a hammer. Thanks for your comment.

The Isreali incursion is justified. Hamas is reported to have fired 7,000 rockets into southern Isreal over the past 8 years. No government worth its onion can take that. Not even the peace loving scandinavuan countries.

Peggy, you lied there. Gaza's 1.5 million people have suffered economic and movement blockade imposed by Isreal. Isreal in conjunction with Egypt turned Gaza into a maximum prison with no outlet to the outside world. What do you expect Hamas to do? I salute the courage of Hamas fighters.
